Chairman and Chief Executive
Wolfgang Dürheimer returned to Bentley as Chairman and Chief Executive on 1 June 2014.
Prior to his return, Mr Dürheimer was Member of the Board for Technical Development at Audi AG and Head of Group Motorsport.
Prior to joining Bentley in 2011, Mr Dürheimer was Member of the Board for Research and Development at Porsche AG where he oversaw the introduction of new models and product lines, strengthening the success of the Porsche brand.
Mr Dürheimer began his career in the motor industry with BMW in 1984 where he held a number of product management roles prior to becoming Head of Product Development for the motorcycle division. From there he became a member of the senior management team responsible for research, development and project management.
After 14 years with BMW, in 1999, Mr Dürheimer moved to Porsche where he took on management responsibility for the iconic 911 product line. He became Member of the Board responsible for Research, Development and Product Management in 2001.
Mr Dürheimer has a degree in Automotive Engineering and a Post Graduate degree in Engineering Business Management from the University of Applied Sciences, Munich. In addition, he gained a Fullbright Scholarship to study Mechanical Engineering and Management at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He has also completed a Diploma in Industrial Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences.
Mr Dürheimer is a native of Bavaria in Germany and is married with two grown up children. In his spare time he enjoys motorsport and skiing and is a qualified ski instructor.
In addition to his Chairman and Chief Executive role at Bentley, Mr Dürheimer is President at Bugatti and Head of Group Motorsport.
