Dr. Karen Lange started her role as a Member of the Board for Human Resources at Bentley in September 2021, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her distinguished career spanning over two decades.
Aligned with Bentley's ambitious Beyond100 strategy, Dr. Lange is introducing initiatives to drive the company towards diversity and sustainability in luxury mobility. She introduced a comprehensive five-pillar strategy focusing on outreach, recruitment, talent, development, and fostering a culture of belonging.
Dr Lange's dedication is evident in various initiatives such as Belonging Week and the establishment of colleague-led networks supporting diversity initiatives like the menopause workplace pledge, Automotive 30% Club, and sponsorship of Northern Power Women.
Prior to joining Bentley, Dr Lange held notable positions within the Volkswagen Group Human Resources department from 2007 - 2020, where she played a role in shaping the global talent landscape. She began as Executive Assistant Human Resources before becoming the Head of Europe Region and then Head of Global Assignments. She has shared her expertise as a lecturer at esteemed institutions including the University of Hanover and the University of Berkeley, California.
In 2023, Dr Lange received a Changing the Game: Negotiation and Competitive Decision-Making Certificate and Volkswagen Thrive Disruptive Innovation Program Certificate from Harvard Business School.
Under her leadership, Bentley is progressing towards its Beyond100 goal, aiming to achieve 30% diverse candidates in management by 2025 and ultimately establishing itself as the most diverse and inclusive car manufacturer in the luxury segment.
