  • Bentley strengthens its commitment to responsible luxury, reinforcing ethical sourcing, animal welfare and sustainable forest management across key interior materials
  • A long term, values-led approach to responsible luxury, embedding transparency, accountability and continuous improvement throughout Bentley’s global supply chain
  • Maintaining clear standards for material sourcing, with enhanced traceability, supplier due diligence and further alignment to Volkswagen Group frameworks

(Crewe, 14 April 2026) Bentley Motors today reaffirms its commitment to responsible luxury with the publication of its Responsible Raw Material Sourcing Policy Statement, strengthening existing standards across animal welfare, sustainable forest management and ethical supply chains, as part of the Beyond100+ strategy.

The British luxury marque continues to evolve the highest levels of craftsmanship and performance alongside responsible practices. The Policy Statement sets out clear principles governing the sourcing of key interior materials crafted at Bentley’s Crewe headquarters – including leather, wool and wood veneers – ensuring they meet stringent environmental, social and ethical standards.

The policy aligns with the Volkswagen Group Responsible Raw Material Policy and applies a robust, risk based due diligence approach across suppliers with a strong emphasis on traceability, transparency and continuous improvement. It reinforces Bentley’s commitment to internationally recognised human rights and environmental frameworks while acknowledging the inherent complexity of multitier global supply chains.

Central to the Policy statement is a strengthened focus on animal welfare. Bentley requires all leather hide used in its vehicles to comply with EU or equivalent national animal welfare legislation, supported by recognised certification schemes and third-party verification. Prohibited practices and materials are clearly defined, with suppliers expected to demonstrate compliance through ongoing reporting and monitoring.

The policy also reinforces Bentley’s commitment to sustainable forest management. All wood veneers used in Bentley vehicles must comply with relevant regulations, including the EUDR and UK Timber Regulations, and be sourced from responsibly managed forests. Bentley prioritises third-party forest certification and continues to explore recycled and reconstituted wood alternatives to support material circularity without compromising quality or aesthetics.

Marine Godot, Head of Sustainability and Materials, Bentley Motors, said:

“True luxury today is defined not only by exceptional craftsmanship and performance, but by the values that sit behind every material choice. Our Responsible Raw Material Sourcing Policy reflects Bentley’s long-term commitment to responsible sourcing, animal welfare and sustainable supply chains, ensuring our products continue to embody responsible luxury for generations to come.”

Underpinning these commitments is a culture of leadership, accountability and collaboration. Bentley works closely with suppliers to embed responsible sourcing standards throughout its value chain, supported by regular risk assessments, training and transparent reporting.

Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, said:

“Responsible luxury demands continual progress. This Policy Statement is a living document – one that will continue to evolve as legislation, industry expectations and our own understanding advance. By regularly reviewing and strengthening our approach to responsible raw material sourcing, we are ensuring that the highest standards of animal welfare, environmental stewardship and ethical sourcing remain firmly embedded at the heart of Bentley, today and for the future.”

The Beyond100+ strategy places sustainability at the core of the brand, redefining every aspect of the business to lead in sustainable luxury mobility. It secures Bentley’s long term commitment to low carbon, responsible luxury, combining care for the environment with supporting people and innovation.
