With a background in engineering and a notable career at Porsche, Dr. Walliser brings expertise to Bentley that is set to take the brand to new heights in the luxury automotive sector as it transitions to electric vehicles.
From Stuttgart, Germany, Dr. Walliser's passion for engineering was evident from an early age. He pursued mechanical engineering, specialising in combustion engines and technology management, establishing a strong academic foundation. His professional journey began at Porsche in 1995, where he demonstrated talent and dedication over nearly three decades.
Dr. Walliser's tenure at Porsche is marked by significant achievements. In 2010, he became the overall project leader of the Porsche 918 Spyder super sports car, a model synonymous with innovation and performance. His leadership extended to motorsport and street legal GT cars, where, starting in 2014, he guided Porsche to numerous victories, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GTE category and the 24 Hours of the Nuerburgring.
In 2019, Dr. Walliser took on the management of Porsche's 911 and 718 product lines, further solidifying his reputation in high-performance vehicle development. By 2022, he was overseeing overall vehicle development, focusing on vehicle architecture and characteristics, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of automotive engineering.
Dr. Walliser's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and engineering led to his appointment as Chairman and CEO at Bentley Motors in 2024 to guide the brand on its journey towards an electrified future.
Since Dr. Walliser’s arrival, Bentley has announced an extension of its forward-thinking business strategy, Beyond100+, and unveiled its plans to launch its first electric car in 2026.
