Dr. Karen Lange

Dr. Karen Lange started her role as a Board Member for People and Culture at Bentley in September 2021. Dr, Karen Lange has introduced a comprehensive five-pillar strategy focusing on outreach, recruitment, talent, development, and fostering a culture of belonging — a framework to equip colleagues with the skills and training needed for electric vehicle production, outlined in Bentley’s Beyond100+ business strategy.

Prior to joining Bentley, Dr Lange held notable positions within the Volkswagen Group Human Resources department from 2007 - 2020, where she played a role in shaping the global talent landscape. She began as Executive Assistant Human Resources before becoming the Head of Europe Region and then Head of Global Assignments. She has shared her expertise as a lecturer at esteemed institutions including the University of Hanover and the University of Berkeley, California. In 2023, Dr Lange received two certifications from Harvard Business School which focus on innovation and strategic decision making.

Dr Lange's dedication to diversity and wellbeing is shown through a range of initiatives implemented across Bentley, including Belonging Week, the establishment of colleague-led networks, the Menopause Workplace Pledge, the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant and participation in the Automotive 30% Club.

Under Dr Lange’s leadership, Bentley is making significant progress towards  its Beyond100+ objectives, including the goal of achieving 30% diversity in management. These efforts emphasise Bentley’s commitment to becoming the most diverse and inclusive car manufacturer in the luxury segment.
