Dr. Matthias Rabe

Dr. Matthias Rabe joined Bentley Motors as a Member of the Board for Research and Development in September 2020, aligning with the announcement of Bentley's Beyond100 strategy, just two months later.
As part of this announcement, Bentley outlined its plans for an electric future. Dr. Rabe is leading the research and development for Bentley’s first ever battery-electric vehicle, which will be revealed in 2026. Under his engineering leadership, Bentley has also seen the implementation of hybrid options across model lines and the launch of the New Continental GT, the ultimate grand tourer.
With a 30-year tenure at the Volkswagen Group, including time in Shanghai where he was responsible for the Volkswagen Vehicle and Electronics department, he held roles such as Chief Technology Officer Volkswagen Passenger Car and Head of Operations Technical Development. He also held the role of Member of the Board of Management, Research and Development at SEAT, SA from 2011 – 2019.
Matthias's extensive background and dedication to advancing automotive technology plays a crucial role as Bentley progresses towards a sustainable and cutting-edge future. His guidance is integral to ensuring Bentley remains at the forefront of automotive excellence and luxury.
